A Vintage Christmas
Inspired by the memories that made Christmas feel like home.
Growing up in Brooklyn during the 90s, Christmas was more than a holiday. It was a feeling, a tradition, and a home filled with love.
I remember helping my mom decorate our windows with Christmas lights that played music, using far too much tape to keep the decorations in place. The Christmas tree stood surrounded by familiar ornaments, and every corner of our home carried a little holiday magic.
Our kitchen was always filled with the aromas of Christmas. My mom, who worked as a chef, knew exactly where to find the best ingredients. I was her little helper, gathering ingredients, sneaking tastes, and watching her bring our favorite holiday recipes to life. There was always coquito chilling in the refrigerator, waiting to be shared.
We lived in a multigenerational home, surrounded by family. The holidays meant laughter, music, food, and loved ones coming together.
And then there were Christmas mornings. My mom would stay up late wrapping presents, carefully placing them beneath the tree so that when I woke up, everything felt magical.
Today, those traditions continue, only our roles have changed a little. My mom and I still decorate together. Now she’s my taste tester, and I’m the one staying up wrapping presents and finding ways to surprise her.
A Vintage Christmas was created to capture those memories through fragrance. From the sweetness of freshly baked treats to the familiar scent of Christmas greenery and Mami’s coquito, each candle represents a piece of the holidays I grew up loving.
This collection is more than nostalgia. It’s a generational connection that has grown with me, one I hope to carry forward and pass down to the generations that follow.
From my childhood home to yours, welcome to A Vintage Christmas.
